At the Children’s Museum of Sound & Color, we believe that every child should be able to experience art and music, including those who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, and visually impaired. Through the use of accessibility methods and technology, we envision a space where this is possible.

By welcoming every ability and perspective, we hope to inspire understanding, spark creativity, and celebrate the many ways people see and hear the world.

At the Children’s Museum of Sound & Color, visitors will experience different musical styles, try out instruments, and experiment with music production. Music history and cultural connections will come alive for visitors with dress up and play-pretend options that connect them with the people, places, and eras behind the music.

We envision a space where children can play with sound illusions, experiment with sound and water, and collaborate with others through interactive multi-sensory experiences. With visualizations and activities designed for a range of abilities and ages, we believe visitors will engage with sound in ways that are active, sometimes surprising, and always memorable.

Our art exhibits at the Children’s Museum of Sound & Color invite children and caregivers to learn and explore together through hands-on, immersive environments that encourage touching, building, listening, and play. Through accessible, three-dimensional installations that celebrate diverse artists and global traditions, children of all vision abilities can engage deeply with art, creativity, and culture.

Hands-on art-making and sensory exploration are central to our approach, inviting children to experiment freely with a variety of art materials and to collaborate on large-scale projects. Through movement-based art activities and experimentation exhibits including illuminated water and mist play areas, our museum encourages full-body creativity, shared discovery, and a focus on enjoying art as an experience.
